Spence Research Center

The Osceola County Historical Society was founded in 1949 with a mission to preserve Osceola County’s rich, cultural history while sharing it with others. It is through the generosity of others and community support that Osceola History has been able to showcase the area’s history for over 70 years.

The library at the Spence Research Center houses books, photos and documents specific to Osceola County and Florida history including a variety of texts written on the history of Florida, a limited collection of family histories, and a selection of local yearbooks.  The items in the library at the research center were donated over several decades, beginning in 1949.

The research center is open to the public by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 407-396-8644, ext. 5. If you are interested in having a staff member search the archive collection, please submit the Research Request form below and purchase a Research Request.
