Osceola History will host training for volunteer tour guides on Friday, October 16 at Pioneer Village.
Volunteers are needed to help lead tours at Pioneer Village and assist with field trips. Guided tours are offered as part of the regular admission to the village. We currently offer tours on Wednesday mornings but would like to expand that to other days of the week, especially on the weekends. Each tour takes about 1 – 1/2 hours.
Volunteers should be able to walk 1-2 miles and feel comfortable talking to individual guests or small groups of 10-15 people. Volunteers must complete four hours of training and conduct a practice tour before being added to the schedule.
Tour guide training will be held Friday, October 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a lunch break from 12:30 to 1 p.m. For those who cannot attend the afternoon session, part 2 of the training will be offered again on Friday, October 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Class size is limited to 10 for COVID safety.
