Coronavirus Update
March 17, 2020

The Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum and Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek will close at end of business on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Both locations will remain closed until further notice. All events have been cancelled or postponed through the end of March.

The opening reception for the “Tools of the Trade” exhibit scheduled for April 2, 2020, has been postponed.

Osceola History’s full-time staff members will continue to work limited hours on-site or remotely. Per our emergency plan, all steps have been taken to ensure that the museum collections, exhibits and Pioneer Village buildings remain secure.

Storytime at the Museum will not be held on Wednesday, March 18 and Wednesday, March 25. The story and activities will be available online.

The opening reception for the “Tools of the Trade” exhibit scheduled for April 2, 2020, has been postponed.

The History Museum and Pioneer Village are open today.


Coronavirus Update

The Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum and Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek remain open at this time.

Osceola History continues to take precautionary measures to protect our visitors and staff from the coronavirus. These measures include frequent and thorough cleaning of the facilities and surfaces often touched by visitors. Staff members have been instructed not to report to work if they are not feeling well.

Should circumstances change, updates will be posted on the Osceola History website and social media channels.

The Welcome Center & History Museum serves as a polling location for precincts 107, 110 and 158. Voting for the Presidential Preference Primary will be held Tuesday, March 17 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

The Welcome Center and History Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is located at 4155 W. Vine Street, Kissimmee, FL 34741.

Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located at 2491 Babb Road, Kissimmee, FL 34746.

If you are planning travel from out of town, please call ahead to confirm that the museum and village remain open. Call 407-396-8644, ext. 1.

Osceola History will follow the latest recommendations from the Florida Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The best prevention is to follow healthy habits including frequent washing of hands with soap and water, covering coughs and sneezes, and limiting travel.
