Guests are spirited away to Kissimmee’s Historic Rose Hill Cemetery at the Osceola History’s 10th Anniversary Dine with the Departed, the organization’s largest fundraiser. They enjoy a twilight dinner and auction amongst the resting places of some of Osceola County’s most influential “passed” residents. After dinner, guests venture out on a guided lantern-lit tour of the cemetery, where they encounter several of its current residents, who have a few lively stories to tell.
As dusk fell over Kissimmee’s Historic Rose Hill Cemetery, guests of Osceola County Historical Society’s 9th annual Dine with the Departed sponsored by Gatorland fundraiser began to arrive.
Amid some controversy, our first Dine with the Departed was held on March 13, 2010 in historic Rose Hill Cemetery. The decision was made by the Osceola County Historical Society to host something different – not the usual ghost tour, generally occurring in October, but to present an educational evening, striving to raise funds for the organization.
