SUMMER CAMP

Pioneer For a Day Summer Camp
Each summer, we offer single day camp programs at the Pioneer Village & Museum, which provide insight into Florida life in the 1880s. Campers will become modern day explorers discovering the past through fun and adventure, all while making new and “old” friends along the way.

Dates: 2011-TBA

Activities include:

  • Exploring the Spence-Lanier Pioneer Village
  • Making heritage crafts
  • Working on a history project
  • Performing chores that the children their age would have done including making butter, washing clothes on a washboard, and tending the family garden
  • School time in the One Room School House
  • A walk through the Mary Kendall Steffee Nature Preserve learning about native plants

Time: 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Age Range: 8 to 12

Cost: $ 30 per child, $15 for each additional child in same family
